Stoutywine - Bourbon Barrel Aged Cuveé

After tasting through our cellar of Bourbon barrel-aged beers , we decided to create a clean, honest blend. Just pure malt expression and barrel character…no adjuncts and no flavors.

That expression is what we are calling Stoutywine, a Bourbon Barrel Aged Cuveé, featuring a blend of Imperial Stout, Scotch Ale and Barleywine. This Cuveé expresses lovely chocolate, caramel and rich malty character, drinking exceptionally smooth thanks to over a year of barrel aging.

We are very excited to share this unique offering which will likely not be produced again. There will be a limited amount available on draft.

Chocolate Moustache Bottle Release - Saturday February 13
Bottles of Chocolate Moustache Imperial Stout.

Chocolate Moustache, will you be my Valentine?

One of our biggest releases of the year is almost here! Read on for all the details on this weekends quadruple bottle release.

Chocolate Moustache is an Imperial Stout which boasts a complex seven-grain malt bill and is dark bold, ebony in color. The addition of TCHO roasted Ghana and Ecuador cacao nibs and Ugandan and Tahitian vanilla beans infuse intense chocolate aromatics and flavors.

Chocolate Moustache Spumoni is the first of two ice cream inspired variants. This beer was treated with cacao nibs and vanilla PLUS cherry and pistachio which combine perfectly for a tasty tribute to one of our favorite ice creams.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Chocolate Moustache spent 12 months aging in Templeton Rye Whisky barrels before being emptied and infused with toasted cacao nibs and whole vanilla beans.

This beer features a rich balance of bourbon, oak, vanilla, cocoa and malt. Complex, yet all flavors work in harmony for a delicious drinking experience.

And last but certainly not least we have BBA Chocolate Moustache Rocky Road. For this beer we took BBA Chocolate Moustache and aged it on 100 pounds of toasted walnuts (thats just over a half pound per gallon of beer).

The result is something out of this world. A combination of three of mankind’s greatest things: bourbon, beer, and ice cream.

It’s decadent and features notes of chocolate and walnuts with a marshmallow finish.

Janet's Brown Ale - A Tribute to Mike "Tasty" McDole
Janet's Brown Ale beer cans and pouring beer into a glass.

Janet’s Brown Ale is an American Style Brown Ale features Cascade and Centennial hops with chocolate and light caramel malts which combine for a toasty and chocolate-like malt body dry hopped with American hops for an elevated hop aroma.

This beer is a tribute to Mike "Tasty" McDole, one of the most prolific and well known homebrewers in the world. He passed away late last year after a battle with cancer. Janet's Brown Ale was an open source recipe he provided to home brewers and pro brewers and it has since been made all over the world.

”Tasty was always generous with his time, with his advice, his homebrew and with his treats. The way he would give feedback on beers was constructive, real and without fail, kind. He influenced countless homebrewers and probrewers through his time on the Brewing Network or just chatting at a beer festival or conference. He will be sorely missed around festivals and Bay Area pubs when we can all gather again.”

Brewmaster & Cofounder of Urban Roots
